Sara Alzetta: AM niche

Inspiring Women Programme Graduate Launches New App:
Helping people plan and organise day trips in a sustainable way
A few years ago, Sara Alzetta conceived the idea of a mobile application to help people easily organise fulfilling day trips that respect the environment, local culture, and support local economy. As an anthropologist born in a city overwhelmed by over-tourism, since moving to London she was eager to explore her surroundings and make the best use of her time off. She says, “My university fieldwork and experiences in remote places worldwide, combined with my work in the tourism industry, have shown me that while we can’t stop travelling, we can improve how we do it. I firmly believe we can do it better, and this is my way.”
Seeking advice and support to get her business idea up and running and Sara applied for Enterprise Enfield’s 2025 Inspiring Women Start Up Programme. Over the period of 6 months, the course webinars, workshops and 121 advice, enabled her to stay focussed and develop a business model which is destined for success. Looking back, she reflects:
“I really enjoyed the programme, it was great opportunity and a real gift . I used it as a ‘To Do’ Checklist and it helped me to better structure what I needed to work on. I really liked the course format in-depth webinars and workshops. I had time to absorb the information provided, and later, explored what was relevant for my business. The most important lessons were about the business plan and finance, as these were the hardest parts for me, and the Business Plan template has been super useful!”
Launch
Together with the help of an iOS developer and a designer, Sara has now realised her dream and launched AM niche, which is available to download from the iOS App Store. She says, “Just imagine: it’s a sunny day, what would you do? The app suggests experiences close to home or within easy reach, encouraging users to rediscover their surroundings. Each trip is carefully curated to respect the environment, embrace local culture, and support the local economy. Whether you’re a solo traveller, a couple, or a family, we help you create memories while making responsible choices.”
For Londoners, the app includes a dedicated section showcasing cultural events across the city, divided by category and venue making it easier than ever to enjoy what London has to offer. Sara says:
“At AM niche, we believe travel should have a positive impact. That’s why the app is more than a trip planner: it’s a guide for conscious explorers who want to feel good about how they spend their time and money. Our mission is to make travel meaningful, sustainable, and accessible, transforming the way we explore the world around us.”
