With 15 years experience in the fashion and nail industry, business management and marketing, Susan Nguyen established her business, The Nail Group, in 2016 – creating a vibrant nail salon in the heart of Tottenham- offering quality nail care services and branded products to the community.

Susan has grown her business steadily over the past 5 years – benefitting from the expert advice, guidance and support provided under several Enterprise Enfield women’s programmes, including Inspiring Women Business Growth Programme which offers 12 hours of 121 expert advice and business webinars.  And most recently, earlier this year Susan graduated from the Female Founders Accelerator Programme. which is a 12 month business programme, supported by J P Morgan which enables women to scale their businesses effectively.  “I received great support and advice from the Programme - which has guided me through my business growth.” 

 

Susan is passionate about the nail care business, making it her mission to inspire self confidence in everyday life through exemplary nail care to clients with the highest of craftsmanship and creativity. Her ambitions include building a globally recognised, premium self-care brand, creating luxury experiences and developing quality products.

 

Last year, Susan’s plans to open a new luxury architect-designed salon were put on hold due to the onset of Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown - the business was hit hard, she explains, “We have found it extremely challenging to stay afloat during national lockdown but it has also compelled us to persevere with our project, which has been two years in the making.”   Finally, the new 310ft salon is now ready to open will be launched on 24th May.  The Mayor of Haringey has been invited to cut the ribbon and a member of the Tottenham Hotspur Women's football team will also be supporting the opening.

“As a long-standing small business based in Tottenham, North London, we have always encouraged our community to support local, small businesses. From speaking with our clients, neighbouring businesses and visitors, we found that there is immense support for local businesses but there is a lack of variety our high road to encourage and attract people to stay local. Hopefully our new state of the art salon will help to address this.  We are very excited about our new salon – we aimed take the nail industry standard up a level in North London and the results hopefully speak for themselves!”

The new salon includes everything needed for customers to relax and be pampered in comfort - "Our minimalistic design allows for our subtle shapes and elements to stand out. We have implemented natural wood to add warmth and cosiness. We've brought in beautiful fresh plants and palms to boost mood, creativity and to reduce stress" There are blush pink and gold chairs, smart tvs and USB charging sockets. The bespoke pedi room at the back of the salon is a tranquil haven with soft spa music and dimmed lighting.
